April 17th Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

We had the free breakfast at Mingle Cafe again and then got a Grab(Uber) to the Batu Caves.  It is a shrine built inside of limestone caves.  It is the most popular shrine outside of those in India.  The best part was watching the monkeys steal food from the visitors and to watch them carry their young around.  We took a taxi to the famous Jalan Alor Street.  It is known for the authentic Malaysian food.  It was like a small village surrounded by skyscrapers.  We ate at one of the most famous hawker stalls in the city.  They served the food buffet style except you tell them what you want and they make your plate for you.  The flavor was ok, but the meat was cold.  Then we headed back to the hostel to relax for a while.  We went to the Mingle Cafe for dinner hoping to get some American type food, but we weren’t satisfied. Then we went to a reggae bar and had a few drinks.  They definitely water their liquor down.  We headed back to the hostel and had some food at one of the restaurants that only opens at night.  We ordered dumplings, satay, grilled eggplant, and grilled mushrooms.  This food was absolutely amazing!!!  Sometimes you need to have second dinner to be satisfied.  It also made us both sick, but we decided it was still worth it.
