April 13th Singapore
we headed out for breakfast at 7 and ate at a restaurant that our hostel gave us a free voucher for. It was a pretty wimpy breakfast of rice and pork. Then we went back to the hostel to grab a few things. We walked to the Gardens by the Bay, which is a 250 acre nature park. It was so beautiful. We paid to get into the cloud forest and the flower dome. The flower dome is the largest glass greenhouse in the world. They were worth the money. Then we walked along Marina Bay. We had lunch in the Lau Pa Sat food court. We ate naan, prati, ice katanga, spicy sauce la mian, and char siew wonton noodle. It was all pretty good, but it was the best naan we've ever had. Then we went back to Marina Bay and rented scooters. We spent the next hour cruising the bay area. Then we walked back to the hostel and relaxed for a while. We went to the Maxwell hawker center for dinner. On the way we stopped into a temple. We ate two more signature dishes of Singapore and didn't like either of them. We tried the chicken rice and laksa. Then we walked to the bay front area again for the water and light show. It was super awesome! We went back to the Supertree Grove to watch their light and music show. It was less impressive. After that we walked all the way back to the hostel. We are definitely getting our walking in.
