April 12th Hong Kong to Singapore
We woke up around 4:30 to get ready to go to the airport. When we got out to the street we realized the train doesn't run this early. Luckily we ran into some other people trying to get to the airport as well. We ended up taking a bus there which I took almost an hour. We finally found the gate to Malaysia Airlines and then had to wait in line for an hour before the gate agent showed up. Once we went passed security we got some breakfast so we could use up our Octopus card before leaving Hong Kong. Noodles again. I could get used to eating noodles for every meal. After waiting in the long queue at Starbucks, we happily drank out coffee with our snuck in Baileys. The flight to Kuala Lumpar took about 4 hours. We had a short layover and then we were off to Singapore. Just a short hour flight. Singapore airport is rated number one in the world. Supposedly there are tons of free things such as a swimming pool and massage chairs. We headed out to grab the MTR, which is their train system. It took us about an hour of stops and switches to get to Chinatown. Once we got out of the train station, we were happy with what we saw. The cleanest Chinatown ever. We checked into our hostel and then headed to Maxwell Food Center, which is one of the hawker centers. We found the longest line and got into it. We ordered the mixed duck rice and it was amazing! Then we went to Wonderful and had chicken and pork satay. Also amazing! We ended dinner with some donuts filled with bean curd. Yum! We will be back to try more yummy food over the next few days. Back to the hostel where we are staying in the dorm rooms and hating every minute of it.
