May 30th

 We had coffee at Cafe La Parada followed by breakfast at the hostel. Antigua is well known for its coffee.  It is the best I have ever had in my life!  (Maya and Hugo are the names of the dogs)





We explored the city and went to the local maret.  It was mostly clothes and junk, but we did find some food to try.  We bought watermelon, papaya, mango, plums and ramatones.  




We also bought food to make dinner at the hostel.  We ate at Donde Chemitas for lunch.  The local dish was an odd one.  You pick your sausage (chorizo, hot dog, etc), then choose tortillas or bread. They grill them up(on a grill made from rebar) and put chimichurri, ketchup, mustard, mayo, and cooked cabbage on top.





Bart made a delicious pasta for dinner and we enjoyed some cheladas (disguised in mugs) at the hostel.
